Nothing is a sin, unless you abuse it. Like sex for example.

Nope - I mean hello, Jesus' first miracle was to turn water into wine. He drank wine at the last supper. The sin of alcohol is drunkeness which is mentioned many times. If you don't get drunk, you haven't sinned. Also, it mentions not participating in things that may cause others to sin. So, that would probably include not drinking around alcoholics, or recoverers.

Buddhism believes anything that alters the consciousness of a human CAN POSSIBLY cause them to do something unwise. For that reason most Buddhists don't drink. Sin? What is sin?

I have never seen anywhere in the Bible where it says that it is. The apostle Paul said that all things are lawful but that not all things are expedient (when he was talking about meat that had been offered to idols). Also, I think that any thing, even if it is not a sin in itself, can be sinful if done to excess.

If you are Cristian then yes! Anything that does harm to your body is a sin. Drinking causes harm to your liver. It may not be immediate harm but over time it does. Another one of the reasons you cannot live a perfect life for god.

Sin is a biblical term...People drank wine back then...The sin is not in the moderate drinking (meals, special occasions, etc), but in the over-indugence of alcohol....

No of course not. All things in moderation. Paul even tells someone to take a little wine for his stomach. Jesus turned the water into wine at the wedding. Just don't drink to excess to get drunk.

Only if you are drinking to get drunk, or alter your attitude, personality, etc. "Drunkards shall not enter the gates of Heaven". I do not believe that a few drinks is a sin.
