you can buy Ramen soup for about 20-25 cents per serving. Get 8 of the pork flavored and buy a package of Polish Sausage link from the sandwich meat section, 3 cans of Hunt's stewed tomatoes (you can get seasoned) and a white onion. Sautee the onion (finely chopped) add the sausage sliced (like pepperoni, only thicker) until brown. Add the stewed tomatoes. Cook the ramen soup until done, drain ALL the liquid, add the flavor pouches. Mix well. Then serve ramen noodles like spaghetti and put the sausage mixure on top.
Entire meal will probably run you about $8 to $10.

Make Pasta Primavera. For the sauce, melt a stick of butter in a pan, add 1/2 of an oinion, chopped, and a two cloves of minced garlic. After that cooks for a bit, add a half cup of flour and stir to make a paste. Add to that about 6 cups of milk (Whisk it in to dissolve the paste into the milk completely), a tablespoon of italian seasoning, a pound of cubed ham (I buy the cheap turkey ham for like a buck and a quarter a pound at wal mart), and a bag of california blend vegetables cooked. Stir this all and heat slowly. During this time, you should have been cooking a pound of your favorite pasta. When the sauce thickens, add some parmesan cheese and salt and pepper to taste. Then add the cooked pasta. Good stuff. Throw in some bread and maybe a salad. What I like about this recipe is that I usually have a lot of the stuff for it on hand already. You should be able to easily make this for under 20 bucks.

You could go and buy some chicken wings there are roughly about 24 to 30 wings per a family pack and make barbecue sauce out of brown sugar and ketchup and a little orange juice . You can do so many things with the wings you could bake them broil them or my personal favorite fry them. You could have them with potatoes or some other vegetable (corn is in season and inexpensive too). You would still have enough money to get a twelve pack of soda.

Meatloaf could be a great idea for you because you can stretch the ground beef a bit with breadcrumbs and other things. You could be creative with it by adding a layer of cheese in the center of the loaf. Or make is a sweet and sour meatloaf using sweet and sour sauce poured over the top. A bag of potatoes goes a long way and you can mash them or roast them. If you mash, you could really jazz if up a bit by adding garlic or other herbs. Also cream cheese blended in makes a really rich dish. Then maybe you could do a green bean casserole using a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of fried onions on top.
Good luck and kudos to you for caring that you make a good meal for your family. :)

pick up some raman noodles and doctor it up. i love raman but i like to experament with it to. i like it drained, then put in the seasoning, with cheese and canned corn and peas. it's filling and really cheap. or get cup o noodle and add cheese. it's pretty much the same, i just think cup o noodle doesn't taste as good. adding hot dogs even taste good in there. or make a run through the freezer aisle, there is a brand i like called michelinas that have a wide variety and are tasty and like $1 a piece, so you could pick up a few of those. or when i was little my dad was good at "gumbo" he could take every left over imagineable and mix it together and it tastes yummy. try picking up spaghetti noodles and a jar of sauce usually those are both cheap items and it's quick and easy. good luck, i know it isn't easy (been there) but you can make it work.

Yes. Usually I would say spagetti noodles but what ever kind you have will do. Cream of mushroom soup , mushrooms, parmesan cheese. I like to add a jar or two of Ragu roasted garlic parmesan but if you dont have it it will still be good., mushrooms and cooked chicken, milk too. Fix your noodles then mix everything and salt and pepper too. Great with garlic bread. Milk is just so the mixture isn't dry. Sorry, no amounts but I don't measure when I cook. You will love it!

For 20 you can get:
2 jars of spag. sauce
1 box of spag,
1 loaf of frozen garlic bread
2 bags of salad mix
OR
you could get frozen broccoli for a side
and make mac-n-cheese but add something like:
ground beef
sausage
bacon
hotdogs
You could make meatloaf:
you only need 2 lbs and the little pre-made mix packets and then get a bag of potatoes and make them mashed. Then all you would need is milk and some butter and egg for the meatloaf and that one hell of a dinner
Your making me hungry =D

Buy two chickens, rice, beans, and veggies. Potatoes are also cheap. You can make au gratin. To drink, keep it simple and stay away from soda. Buy concentrated juices.
Honestly, $20 should be plenty to fee a group of 8 people. Just don't expect to make anything fancy.
