Yes. It's true. The potato "soaks" up some of the salt.

Yes very true. You can also put a spud in over spiced foods to draw out the excess heat.

yes this does help . another way is to use a wooden clothes pin. this also helps to pull out the taste of burn't foods

I've heard that it actually does work but I have never tried it. I saw it on a cooking show, so i guess you should try it and see.
