Go to www.KBR.com look at all the jobs and decide which ones you want to apply for. You have to send them a resume etc. It could take up to a month or two for you to be called. If they want to hire you, you will have to travel to Houston TX. There you will take some exams (one of them is a psychological exam) you will get a physical exam to see if you are fit enough to go over there. Then you will wait around the Houston area until you are picked to get on the plane. That could take up to a month. The pay is great if you don't mind being in Iraq or Afghanistan. There are also lots of other places you could go. Turkey, Africa, places like that. They have lots of jobs. Sometimes 200-300 are available. I'm sure you could go. They need people with your expertise over there. You can stay as long as you like. And if you decide once you get over there you don't want to be there, they will pay for you to come home, no questions asked. Your pay would probably be $3000 to $5000 a month. Good Luck in whatever you decide to do.

My boyfriend is a plumber, he has a mate who is in military intelligence who probably has to go to Afghanistan he really does not want to go, he does not believe in it, but he is trained and that is his job.

You are mad if you want to go, people just disappear all the time. If you really want to go out there and make a real difference for the Iraqi people who have been left worse off than before the American forces moved in, you wouldn't be asking HOW much you would get PAID!! You would be writing to water Aid or medicins sans frontier or organizations like that who do a lot of the work there.

So many millions of U.S dollars that were pledged to help rebuild Iraq have been stuffed in the pockets of the middle men, getting away with ripping off the American government and the people of Iraq. So I wouldn't count on making a fortune out of the misfortunates, its already been done.

The pay for plumbers in the third world is poor. And the locals do it for next to nothing anyway. It is a bad idea. Security and gun running will pay.

check companies like K.B.R. Salary depends on length of tour, hostile environment and skill level/experience. It has advantages, KBR has been known to pay 6 digit salaries for 6 months of work, plus you may receive tax exempt salary (no payroll taxes - no medicare/medicaid, no social security, no state tax).

K.B.R = Keller, Brown & Root

our friend is looking into a similar thing at the moment and currently-not much. most work is being done charitably as it is such a mess and any pay is little.
