As a licensed insurance agent in property and casualty, you are only to contact the police if you are in an accident that has more than a 1000.00 worth of damage otherwise you are to exchange information and contact your insurance company. If you "bumped" the vehicle and have left no damage, out of common courtesy, you could leave your name and number but not your policy information.

Leave your contact information on the windshield of the car you bumped but do not call the police. The authorities should only be called if the damage to either car is greater than $500.

If no damage, then no.

Warning: If you leave perceiving there is no damage, but the owner perceives there was and files a police report....you now have a "Hit and Run" issue that is a misdemeanor (criminal charge) in my state, Indiana PLUS the costs of the damage.

Be SURE their is no damage before you drive off.
If in any doubt whatsoever, get the owner.

well if you have insurance.call the police but you should take pictures of both veh. just in case the owner of the other car try's to say you did all kinds of damage. But yes call the police. and at least get a report made.

Well if you just touched it i think their shouldn't be no problem. But if you left any scratches or dents I would definitely wait for the driver of the car to get back or call police,or maybe just leave your information in the windshield. It's better to be honest because if something would happen to your car you would want the person responsible to fix what the damaged. But if you say that nothing happened then you shouldn't worry.

Personally I did not touch anyone's bumper so I do not know why you want to call the police on me.

If there's no damage it's fine. That's what bumbers are for. If you tap another car while back in or out of a space that's usually acceptable. I think the rule is if it's under 5 mph.

No..it doesn't have to be reported if there is no damage. I would let the owner of the other car know....but no need to call if it's agreed by both parties.....

No damage, don't drag the police into it, just simply apologize and go on with your life♥

no. i wouldnt report it to the police. if there wasnt even any damage done you wouldnt call it an accident. if you dont report it to your insurance then i wouldnt call the police. i dont think u could get in any trouble because they wouldnt even be able to tell that anything even happened. i dont think the police would be happy about it if you called them because they would think of it as a waste of their time.
