Being used as an example?

Okay, me & this guy are on a break - but still friends.

He was on the phone with me and said: "My brother is having girlfriend trouble."

I said "Oh yeah?"

He said "Yeah and I told him...'I would just talk to her, man. Even if she doesn't want to hear what you say - at least you'll be telling her how you feel. I mean, I have a friend that if something is bothering me, I just TELL her. And she probably doesn't like it - but at least she knows what I am thinking or how I have interpreted something. And we talk about it. You should just do that. It'll help you out."

I said "You talking about me?"

He said "Who the hell else would I be talking about?"

I was FLOORED to say the least. Anyone have any insight to what he might be thinking?

I mean, he values what we have - even if we are JUST friends, right now...at least that is what *I* am seeing. Or am I just being a complete girl who hopes for something more someday?

You're reading way too much into all of this.

He trusts you as a friend and communicates openly with you. If you think that there is (or could be) more, you should come right out and ask him if he agrees. Otherwise, just be friends, cause that is what he is being. And it sounds like he is a pretty good one.

Ask him how he is feeling! Ask him if there is gonna be anything more from the relationship. Are you gonna get back together properly? or Are you gonna just be friends? At least that way you will know wether or not it was meant to be. If it wasnt you can carry on with your life and find someone new!

You are his friend. That is the best start you can have. But you have to remember that you were friends first. I would recommend that you never get married and then you can be friends forever.

Getting official ruins everything. The people I dated who were friends were the best relationships but then it changes when you start getting serious. And lots of times it ruins the friendship
