i think it is 18 days, over that they must have a doctor's or hospital slip as to why.

if they miss18 days you go to court on truancy charges and get anything from jail time to big fines.

I don't know how many days a child is "allowed" to miss in the state of Arkansas you will have to check with your school system for that information. However yes you can get into some major trouble and be taken to court by the state if your child doesn't attend school regularly, even in kindergarten. You could possibly have the child removed from your custody and put into foster care.

I'm not sure, I believe there probably now is a limit. I'm sure if your child is sick and you provide doctors notes you would be ok. I honestly think if he/she is sick but is a good student, there shouldn't be a problem of course some schools make it a problem and I really don't there should be any restriction if the child is prone to illness. I missed 43 days of school in 1st grade and alot between 2-4 grades, again in 7th grade about 23 days I had chronic tonsilitis, but I grew up fine and was a top honors student. I think if your childs sick and there is a limit, then if you had a tutor or something that would be ok. I live in NY and kids that are suspended from school for a week, they have to provide a tutor or something to replace the education.

If your child has an excuse from the doctor then there shouldn't be a problem but if its because he or she is ditching school then there could be serious problems. if your child makes decent grades then your child may have to do community service. but if your child is a trouble maker then you may have to pay fines and if it gets really bad then you go to jail for about 30 days. If this is your child's first time missing a lot of days of school then you usually won't go to jail.

Children can miss up to 10% of school. Usually school is 180 days a year. so 18 days is usually the max.

Check your school handbook. Arkansas law requires that you receive and sign for a handbook. Most schools say 10 days. If you miss too many without medical excuses (from a doctor), you will probably be reported to the court and charged with truancy.

unless your child is ill and is seeking treatment - there is no excuse for a kindergartener to miss school!

you shouldn't even need to know the answer, becuase the question should have never crossed your mind.

A child missing a lot of school at kindergarten - and people wonder why their child is behind in school and develop habits of cutting class in high school to get in trouble - because parents taught them how when they were young.

Most schools have their own regulations regarding this. Your school should have sent you a handbook explaining absences and tardiness. Does your school have a web-site? I know all of the info. about things like for my daughter's school can be found on their web-site.
