Absolutely! I always watch the TV shows and I think that is so cute. I could do that. I never get around to it though. When I do get the supplies to do a DIY Project I never start it or finish it.

I like the D.I.Y., but I am afraid that I will mess up or it will not look right after or while I am doing it.
When it comes to locksmith work on commercial or residential properties, I am not afraid to touch them, but other things I am.
I went on a job last week, and the front door had about an inch of light between the door frame on top and on the sides, but I was not happy of the work that I performed because of the way the door looked. It still has small holes of light, and I have to go back with double sided weatherstripping to seal it again.
Some people do outstanding work on D.I.Y.
Sometimes I have problems with the instructions the way they are written.
I work two jobs, and sometimes I do not get to finish before I have to go to another one. That is tough.

I think you hit the nail on the head. LOL.
It's question more of skills than time for most people. I just wish more people would recognise that taking on a job yourself without proper knowledge can have disastrous consequences.
Doing a bit of joinery or building a garden wall or path is one thing, but trying to fit a gas fire or repair a central heating boiler. Well, I think that's just asking for trouble.

Me!!! I've bought several books and mag's, but nothing yet that has really taught me the basic's! It often does seem to be a long task too, and I like things done quickly...which is why I let someone else do it, and go out for the day.

I do almost all repairs/maintenence myself unless there's a safety issue, like electrical, gas or roofing/construction. Unless I completely lack the skills and time, I'll learn and do small projects.
