That's different for each person. A wise Buddhist once said, "All religions are just different roads leading to the same place." Religion, much like clothing, is not a one size fits all. Gods (which we create in our own image) are the same way.

If you wonder about a certain belief, investigate it in light of the truth of the Bible. Dig for the truth and pray that God will give you holy spirit to help you to understand it. Then, look for a religion that teaches what you have learned. There can be only one truth. For example, either there is a firey, burning hell where souls are tortured for their sins or hell is the grave, either everyone who loves God and Jesus and obeys them goes to heaven or some go to heaven to rule with Jesus and some will live on a restored earth forever in paradise conditions, etc.

I think the standard answer here is "You must have faith."
However, I take a more practical point of view: What makes
you feel that the world is RIGHT. That is, what makes the
world make sense for you? Note that that is not the same
answer as "what makes you feel good".
Unfortunately, whether organized religions want to admit it or
not, there are as many religions on this planet as there are
people ... if not more.
If what you do helps you make sense of your world, then I
have to think you are doing the right thing ... or at least not
the wrong thing.
Nobody is going to prove to you that their solution is the best.
I have YET to see anything like that come close to happening...
especially here.

Ask God to reveal his Truth to you. If you earnestly seek him, he will grant you knowledge of who he is.
You know you are serving the right God because when you ask him into your life, you form a relationship that is living and thriving. If you have to imagine God, or imagine his will, then you are not connected to him. If you glean insights and depth of experience, and receive answers to questions that you never could have come up with on your own, then you know you are connected to God. When you begin aligning your will with his--after seeking his will and asking him for strength to carry it out--you know the living God is at work in your life.
That is, the relationship the faithful have with God is alive.
This is very hard to describe unless you have the experience of it. Very hard indeed.
But the bottom line is this: To serve God, ask God who he is and how to serve him. The wrong god won't answer, because there is no wrong god. Only a God who lives can and will answer.

why not just trust this translation
1st commandment Worship no God but Me.
and it means
M=IVI stitched together
e=arm
e=arm=n=e
5=11813=14=5
n=.I7 mixed up and stitched together=Stevens.n
root of n=root of 14=some numbers=translate those numbers back into letters and notice word DAFE and The actual arm with those IVI stitched together(cuts) returned to prominence one night when the left hand of GOD signed a official paper DAFFY DUCK. True fing story. and no the other gods didn't tell Me to do it i just did.
thats the God you should serve either that or destroy everything english for improper translation of the holy scripture.
do you accept the 1st?
and if you don't like the english translation of the 1st get out of the english countries or convert to greekism or jewism and go straight to heaven ie two pallbearers h and n carrying your casket.
so 1st commandment as king james had translated means He is Me.

The only way to know God is through Jesus-Christ. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior in your life, read the Bible (the living Word of God) and act upon it. God reveals himself in his Word ... so meditate it, the Holy Spirit will open your understanding. God will not do something different or say something different that what is written in the Word... if you know the Word of God and develop an intimate relationship with God through prayer, praise and worship, fasting, studying and meditating the Word, you will know His Spirit, you would know Him. So you will be able to discern truth from error, right from wrong, and good from evil.

I think if people were really honest with themselves, no one could say for 100% certain they are serving the right God. However that's where faith comes in. I myself believe, by faith, that I am serving the right God or else I wouldn't be following Him. But I am willing to admit I could be wrong. And if I am wrong I hope who or what ever the right God is, is like the God I believe in, and is merciful enough to judge my heart and forgive me. Just my opinion. Everyone has to work out their own salvation.

LOGICALLY there must be just one true religion. But who are these true worshipers today? How can you identify them and know that their worship is indeed the one approved by God
This cannot be decided simply on the basis of what people and organizations claim to be. However, Jesus gave us a rule by which we can distinguish between the true servants of God and the false ones, saying: “By their fruits you will recognize them.” He showed that what really determines whether we are true worshipers of God is not merely our claims or even our apparently commendable works, but our actually doing the will of the heavenly Father.—Matthew 7:15-23.
What, then, are some of the identifying marks of true worshipers of God?
The Bible tells us that “God is love.” In harmony with this, Jesus showed that the most outstanding mark of those who follow his example in worshiping God is that they would have love among themselves.
It must be love that deeply affects every aspect of one’s daily living.
A further requirement of true religion is that it must sanctify God’s name. Why so? Because when Jesus Christ taught his followers how to pray, he showed them that this should be their first concern. “You must pray, then, this way,” he said: “Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified.” (Matthew 6:9)
Now, stop and ask yourself: What religious group is most prominently known for publishing the name of God, as Jesus did? The churches in general avoid the use of the name Jehovah;
If you were to talk to your neighbors and refer repeatedly to Jehovah, using his sacred name, with what organization do you think they would associate you? That is not a difficult question to answer. There is only one people that notably follow Jesus’ example in this regard.
Today we often hear religious leaders speaking on behalf of political organizations such as the United Nations and praying for them. But who are doing the preaching of the good news about God’s kingdom as Jesus foretold? This is a principal activity of those who actually do the will of the heavenly Father in imitation of his Son Jesus
The question at issue is not whether a certain religious group appears to meet one or two of these requirements, nor whether some of its doctrines conform to the Bible. Far more than that, the true religion must measure up in all these respects and its teachings must all be in full harmony with God’s Word. Only in this way can such religion truly be pleasing to Jehovah God. There are not many religions meeting these requirements. The Bible shows that there is only “one faith.”—Ephesians 4:5.

It's all about the message--it must be resonating at some level within you, if you are continuing to pray 2 or 3 times a day.

I realize there are many religions but how many Gods do you believe there are? If you are searching for a relationship with the true God then you must seek Him, rather than a religion. if you have specific questions then feel free to contact me or ask them here
However I believe that God will reveal Himself to you so ask for that revelation
