Halifax is a city in Nova Scotia Canada.

Halifax is a city.
It is in the Province of Nova Scotia, which is one of the Maritime Provinces on the Atlantic Coast of Canada. (NOT the states as another answerer said).

There is also a Halifax in the UK, a Halifax Bay in Australia, abd several Halifax's in the USA. However, the one in Canada is the most commonly referred to, and the only one I know of that is in a "Province".

im not exactly sure on this but i think its a city and it is in novia scotia but i could be wrong
