there is no definitive answer on abortion, its totally a personal choice and a personal matter,

for some statistics, you can use this pro-choice website http://www.naral.orgor this pro-life one http://www.nrlc.org and find your stance. just remember to consider your source

Well from a liberal persepective and from a woman's, I can tell you that "choice" is valuable. It's something that women should have a right to. I believe that no one should have the right to tell a person what to do with their bodies. Roe v Wade argues that abortion poses no direct threat to society and therefore should be protected.

As far as whether Medicaid or Medicare paying for it, it is a coin toss for me. There are women who simply cannot afford having an abortion. But then there are those that are wreckless and get pregnant again and again and abort the child just because they can. I think that the government should sanction this a bit. Maybe have a limit to how many a person can have per year or total that the government will pay for.

As far as my personal views, I don't believe abortion is right for me. But I would NEVER impose my beliefs on someone else because everyone is different, religion and morale aside, everyone has a different take.

I think it's murder, plain and simple. In extreme cases women should be able to have an abortion. A friend of mine's sister was having a baby and if the baby was born her sister would die and the baby would have died shortly after-there was some problem. I think to abort the baby was the right thing because the baby was going to die either way, but if the woman had the baby she too would have died. But having a baby is a choice, if a woman decides she wants to be sexually active she knows the risk she is taking using protection or not. Protection isn't 100%, if she doesn't want a baby she should put it up for adoption. We do what causes babies now. Why punish a baby and take it's life away for a stupid woman's mistake. It wasn't the babies fault and ultimately the baby is being punished for it. The pro to abortion is the child won't grow up miserable or have a bad life. Though there are alternatives like adoption, or most people's parents would adopt their grandchild. Con's obviously it takes an innocent life, the baby never gets to live, have a future, do anything we take for granted.

The previous answers don't address the issue of medicaid paying for an abortion. I think that medicaid should not pay for an abortion unless the mother's life is in danger. To do so would mean that every tax payer in the country had a hand or a part in paying for the abortion. That is unacceptable to many people. In some parts of the country, the vast majority even disagree with any type of abortion for any reason. So, to allow tax payer money to fund an abortion is incomprehensible.

I believe that my questions and answers here are the most agressive from the pro choice view. I clearly outline that there is no logical or legal basis for the pro life movement. There is not one pro life argument that I have not completely dispelled. However, I do not believe in forced abortion, I fully believe in choice. If you have specific questions, I will be glad to answer them for you.
I should state that I respect the right to any person to have and exercise a different view from mine. I believe that those who are opposed to abortion should continue to speak up, even though I think they are wrong. I believe that the truth about abortion probably lies somewhere beyond the understanding of any person.

No, medicade should not pay for abortions. That is a personal choice, whether or not to have an abortion. It should not be covered by insurance. I believe that it is every woman's right to choose whether or not she carry a pregnancy to term, but it is not MY personal choice. Abortion is not only murder in my opinion, but it is harmful to the mother's body. An abortion could cause her to not be able to concieve again. Is it worth risking your health and future fertility to have an abortion when there are so many people unable to have children of their own and would gladly adopt an unwanted child? Think about that when you write your paper.

I believe every woman knows what's best for that baby.
Every woman knows their own breaking point for frustration and anger.
I think sometimes a baby aborted is better off than being born to an abusive home, always knowing that he/she is not wanted or valued.

I also think that parents who beat their children beyond recognition should have been aborted.
They are the mistake, that should have never been put on Earth!

try to look at both sides of the story, esp for the paper. Teachers like to see a good argument, just make sure ur thesis and conclusion state the same thing(with different wording)

I am pro-life, but I understand some extreme cases. Do what you believe in, and good luck on that paper!!

abortion should be allowed for girls and women who get raped and end up pregnant, but adoption is always a better option. to give someone the opportunity to raise a child that they can't have on their own is one of the greatest gifts you could give them.

Its hard to say.. I would never have one however, I would never judge anyone who did as long as it was in the first trimester (legally).
