If I lay on my stomach and pant (like you do) my cat will run towards me and swipe at me all wild looking.

begiN. Your cat interprets this as a display of agression. As a killing machine, it understands what it can control and what tries to control it. The power play never stops. Your cat wants to kill you. That is why humans have a thing for them. Look at those lions who've started killing elephants. End.

You look like prey ,panting in distress.
He thinks he can take you when you act like this.
Stop it - he'll get confused about what behaviour he's allowed to exhibit around you.
Also don't let him alone around children.
New neighbours moved in & their cat kept visiting us so I showed my 4 year old how to stroke the cat.We were both there & the cat was fine.
When my 4 year old was alone, the cat swiped at her and she couldn't stop it.
Cats are hunters & have a sense for what they can get away with.
Hope this helps

rofl, man i dont want to know how you found that out.

BUT

I think they just want to play. your on the floor at their level, not all big and tall and "dominant owner" so when your down they see it as submission - so in a way, they have the right to take a few swipes, because to them you wouldnt be on the floor if you didnt want them. it'll all be in fun though.

I'm not sure as to the answer but one of my cats responds to that noise as well, the other does not, it may have something to do with dogs and their innate sense to protect themselves or something with their upbringing. I think it is an unsolved cat mystery.

Your cat is doing it because he thinks you are weird. Nice, but weird.

youre being submissive, its playing with you, unless it has a vicious streak or doesnt like you and may go for you. but usually they don't like that because youre supposed to be the boss. its ok for them to roll over and show their tummies, they are being submissive and want you to play with them. it's becase they feel safe with you. also they blink when they look at you because they are comfortable and submissive. if they stare at you-they arent happy with you hahahaha
