Try close in to shore around Jetties, Bridges + rocks, where theres' liable to be food washed in by the water getting trapped there for them & other species to feed on.

depends on where you are crabbing.... Maryland, Delaware, Virginia? Try backwater creeks with deep channels. If by boat, work drop-offs around fingers & points as well as the channels. 3 to 12 feet of water is a good place to start.

Any area around marshes, off banks where you see crabbers markers is quite obvious.
