I am a Christian. I am not only not always complaining about being hated, I never complain about it. It doesn't matter to me one way or the other how I am perceived and received by people.

Why do you think that Buddhists aren't, in general, bashed, ridiculed, and "hated," as you say? Is it perhaps because what Buddhism teaches is not terrifying? That is, if you practice Buddhism or not, there is no eternal reward or lack thereof. It is a way to try to come to peace within oneself and exist in harmony with "the universe." This is not unsettling to people because it doesn't cause them to ask grave questions, the answers to which could inspire a fear of God.

To answer your question as to why I don't become a Buddhist: because Siddhartha Gautama was a man who is now in the grave. What he taught, I have read about and had even practiced at one point in my life. But he didn't find the ultimate Truth or the ultimate Reality, and so I abandoned his path once I found Truth and Reality.

To understand this, you would need to understand both Buddha and Christ, which I'm betting you don't, given what is--and is not--expressed in this question.

I have no intentions on changing Buddhist or any other religion. I am proud that people dislike me for being a christian. God wasn't liked either so why should I expect to be treated any differently. I count it all joy when people dislike me for being a christian, because that means I have shaken up the enemy and he's trying to shake me, but the wonderful thing is he can't. Evil hates light and I take comfort in the fact I am looked at in a negative way because I choose to serve God and call myself a christian. If I was liked by everyone I would be a little afraid, because then I would know I'm doing something wrong. God said" Pick up your cross and follow me". Loving the Lord and doing his work makes me an enemy of the Devil and you know what, I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. God bless you

Jesus said the world hated me it will hate you also, so it should not be a suprise to any Christian that he is hated by the world. Now if the world loves a Christian like they do some, then they better take a look at their relationship with God cause there is something wrong with that picture.

I do not complain about being hated simply because I am a Christian. I expect it because Jesus was hated too. To me, persecution of Christians is a sign that we are steeped in truth. Christianity and Judaism are the only major religions who represent a threat to all people of other faiths and beliefs. Judaism was the first monotheistic religion believing in the one true God and Christianity was founded in Judaism. Jesus was a Jew.

"Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs." Jonah 2:8

What does an image profit, for its maker has carved it; a molten image, and a teacher of lies? For does the maker trust in his work on it, to make dumb idols? Woe to him who says to the wood. Awake! To a dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and no breath is in its midst. But Jehovah is in His holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before Him. Hab 2:18-20

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

Christian here. Never complained about being hated.

If you are implying that Buddhists are beloved by all, you might want to know they are hated in China.

"How blessed are you whenever people insult you, persecute you, and say all sorts of evil things against you falsely because of me! Rejoice and be extremely glad, because your reward in heaven is great! For that's how they persecuted the prophets who came before you." (Matthew 5:11-12)

"How blessed are you whenever people hate you, avoid you, insult you, and slander you because of the Son of Man!" (Luke 6:22)

"If the world hates you, you should realize that it hated me before you. If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. But because you do not belong to the world and I have chosen you out of it, the world hates you." (John 15:18-19)

Therefore, I expect to be hated and not loved by the world. I do have a reward waiting for me in the future.

Christians are happy being "themselves." Insert whatever word you like between the quotes. It is a fun exercise. No, really, I don't think they are interested in becoming buddhists, because then they wouldn't have anyone to call heathens. lol. Except for muslims like myself, who they call pagans. And then they wonder why people don't like them. Hmmmmm. Peace.

NO, we actually like the hate. Narrow is the way that leads to heaven and broad is the path to hell. I wouldnt give up on what I believed if someone held a gun to my head. In front of my family. I would be praising Jesus and smiling saying"I'm coming HOME!!!!"
