There's a misunderstanding here, a frutarian diet is not one which is only fruit but is an extension of the vegetarian/vegan diets.

A vegetarian will not eat meat (this includes fish!!)

A vegan will not eat or use animal products, this includes honey and leather.

A fruitarian will only eat plant products that can be harvested without killing the plant, so this is mainly fruits and nuts.

This can be healthy if you are very, very nutrition concious and have strong moral opinions about animal products but is not a suitable weight loss diet - plus you would need to take vitamin B12 supplements.

From a vitamin and mineral stance, fruit is awesome for that. What you may lack is protein. It's all about balance. But you will certainly be healthy enough on a Fruitarian diet.

You should also see the weight come off pretty quickly.

Fruitarian diets are definitely not suitable for teens, according to everything I've read, mainly because of the lack of protein that a growing body requires.

If you're "fully grown", it's another thing entirely. But you should still probably supplement fruits with grains, beans, nuts, etc. for the nutrients.

Eating only fruit will give you a burst of Natural sugars that fruit contains. This is not good for you, you need a balanced diet of Protein, Carbohydrates and a small amount of Fat.
I'd advise not going on ANY fad diet, just eat healthy and get penty of exercise and the weight will fall off!

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span. No food or drink in between the food and not more than three meals a day, unless u r diabetic.

A fruit-only diet will not provide you will all the essential vitamins, minerals and essential fats that you need. Certain fruit, especially grapes, are very high in sugar. It won't be very filling either, and you will be hungry all the time - too much fruit will also give you the runs!

I'm not sure how much weight you can actually lose, but as with a vegetarian diet you'll need to know the nutritional values of each fruit pretty well. You need to make sure you get enough proteins, iron, calcium etc.so you can sustain your body without risks of malnutrition.

Why would anybody want to? It is high in carbs & virtually no protein, so you'll be tired, hungry & probably have mood swings because of the sugar. Also sugar causes your insulin levels to react dramatically, so you may actually end up storing fat!
