There are often questions on here about bizarre little habits kids around eight years old do (seemingly compulsive about mentally coloring traffic signs, smelling everything, etc.). Please list any odd little habits you know of that a perfectly normal child of six to nine years of age has done as part of a phase. (Day-to-day, stupid-seeming, little habits that the child seems to constantly be doing, things that could look a little bit like OCD to the person who doesn't know children very well).

My daughter just turned 6 and she's tasting everything- particularly glue and other school supplies. My son is 8 and the knaws on the sleeve of his shirt, and sometimes the neck if he doesn't have sleeves- but I think this is an anxiety kind of thing, more than an odd habit.

First of all, you shouldn't worry about what people who don't know your child think! And I've just had to come to terms with the fact that kids this age are just plain weird! lol : )
I can't think of anything specific right off hand, but my son (he's 6) does weird stuff all the time! When I ask him about it, he gives a silly, off the wall answer, and we end up laughing about it. I wouldn't be too concerned; kids have amazing minds, and there's no way for us to really know what's going on in those little developing brains! If you are concerned, talk to his teacher. His teacher will be able to tell you if he/she's noticed any problems in school. If he/she has, then take the problem to your pediatrician. Good luck!

Rafael Nadal shorts pulling is abnormal yet no longer stressful for me as he's my regular participant. i found Djokovic to be really stressful the way he bounces the ball extra 10 cases earlier tossing it up for serve.

sticking their fingers/hands on their private parts and asking you to smell their hand. BLAH! I doubt a nine year old would do this. This is on the younger end of the scale.

Pacing. When kids "pace" it's usually a sign of a mild autism.
