it's a decent score

687 is the average credit score. So if I were to give your score a grade I would say C+ to a B--

Which is good, but you can do much better. But you are at a level where it should be no problem to get a car loan, mortgage of personal loan depending upon your employment status. Keep working on building your credit. It will prove very beneficial.

540 IS NOT THE NATIONAL AVERAGE. The average, depending on what bureau you ask, is between 660-700. (Myfico.com claims its like 710, which i find hard to believe.)

663 is inching through the 'fair' range and towards 'good.'. You'll still get rejections from the stricter places, but you're getting there.

It's relatively good. It's above the national average (around 540 I believe). 700 is a good place to be. That first digit really makes a difference when applying for a loan.

650 and higher is considered good credit but this is the bottom of that scale.

Not bad, but not exceedingly good. Keep working on it.

Very good. I wish I saw more of them, as I am in the mortgage business!
