No, it is not wrong of you to not accept everything about God and religion. Certainly not everything that human beings teach about God and religion is true. Many religions' teachings are contradictory to each other, even within the same religion! It is only natural for an intelligent person to then question what exactly is true.
God is not egotistical nor is he controlling, at least not in the heavy-handed context which I read into your statement. God is not angry, vengeful, hateful or any other of those type of negative things which were attributed to him by primitive worshippers. Early men feared God and what he could do to them. They interpreted natural occurrences such as storms, tornados and earthquakes as evidence of God's wrathful punishment for something they had done, or for some sacrifice they did not offer. Jesus came to us to reveal God's true character, that of a loving Father. He tried to dispel all the mistaken notions we had about God by showing us that God is a loving, caring parent.
Many religions operate through threats either implied or implicit that if you don't follow their particular doctrines or dogmas you will suffer God's punishment. Thankfully, God doesn't work that way. All it takes is the desire to do his will, even the tiniest flicker of faith, to survive beyond this life into the next world. Don't accept any particular religious denomination's interpretations without question. Search for truth wherever you can and ask God to help you determine what is true. Religion is your personal relationship with God. Seek him first and build that relationship. You don't need a church or organized religion for that.

I think it is more wrong for you to remain ignorant in order to justify yourself. Talk about being egotistical...
Do you like being threatened that if you don't obey government laws you will go to jail? Oh, that's right, that's different... the government has the power to send you to jail because we chose them to govern... God doesn't have the right to banish us to hell because He only created us.
By the way, He isn't controlling... you have a choice to accept Him or Not. THAT is not egotistical, it is righteous.

Everything you've been exposed to about God and religion is not necessarily true.
Based on your attitude, it sounds like you're missing some significant stuff.
The simple fact is, those who can't accept the whole truth about God and his creation, wouldn't be happy in heaven anyway.
The only faith on this planet that possesses all of God's complete revelation is the Catholic faith.
It's complicated, but once you understand it, you understand God, too, and all things become clear.
The true "picture" of God is nothing like what you think it is.
Keep working on it.

It is not wrong to question what is right or wrong in your eyes, it is wrong to question things pertaining to God, because that is heretical and would mean you have no faith to begin with. You see God loved you so much he sent his only Son for you, gave Him up to death for you, and then accepted His sacrifice for you. Are you willing to do the same, I dont think so. So egotistical, I think not, controlling, due to our free will, I think not, but freedom is not the ability to do as you wish, it is the freedom to chose what is right and wrong. You chose, God will alwyas watch over you, and wait for you as He did His Son.
God bless always
All books are translations of God's word, no one can say otherwise since God language is not interpretable. Dont be ignorant to beleive only one book is better than another, they are all interpretations of God's word.

God is not controlling, He gave a the gift of agency, you choose what you want out of life. God warns us but he does not threaten us, that is the use of Man. God wants you to be happy, His plan is the Plan of happiness.

Who told you that if you do not accept God that you're going to Hell? Hell wasn't prepared for man, it was made for the Devil and his angels. So if you go to Hell it will not be God's doing but yours. God gave you a will to choose - so choose willingly, the place you want to reside forever.

LOL, nothing wrong with that. you have your own mind. as i have mine. i have to agree with you though. that is if the god of the bible is the true god, and there isnt a god that isnt part of all the religions. a god that is watching all the conflicts between these religions, shaking his head because its a pointless argument and all he wants is people to have faith in his existance, not label themselves as a "christian" or "muslim"

God is love, He Sent His Son you would not have to go to Hell. "Peace I leave with you. Peace I give to you. Not as the world gives. Do not be troubled, do not be afraid." John 14:27 spoken by Jesus Himself.

Given how much is written and said by so many different people about God and religion, most of them in direct contradiction to each other, to believe it all you would have to be stark, staring, raving schizophrenic.
