Another good site is www.MTDaily.com - They have job listings, requirements, and other information on how to apply. I also work at home as an MT and have done so for 9 years - also with MedQuist :)

I have a friend who does this, and she loves it, because she can be home with her older children. She says it's nice, but the only thing is you really have to be super disciplined. Otherwise, you can end up with half the day gone and no work done, especially if you have little children. She worked in an office as a transcriptionist first, getting her training that way, then went on her own. So she didn't have to pay for the training. The courses are pretty expensive. I have considered doing that, but can't really afford to leave the job I have now, and I've been a medical claims adjuster for 30 years. If I were going to do it, I'd go to a community college, as it would be less expensive than the schools who sell only that service. If you don't already have a job to give up, you might consider going to a major hospital first and try to get into their transcription department as a trainee.

It is hard for someone right out of school to get an online job. I had to work at a local hospital for a couple of years and get some experience. But I do know www.mtjobs.com is a good source for job listings (some may even allow people with less than 1 year of experience too). I work for Medquist (www.medquist.com). I really enjoy working at home...I wish you the best of luck! :)
