My daughter's Girl Scout troop sent hundreds of boxes of cookies last year. I hear they love that - but it only happens once a year.
Let's see - it's sandy, hot, and sunny in the dessert - how about Camelpacks (water bladders to be worn on their backs - you know, like bicyclists wear), sunblock/sunscreen, Purel - that alcohol-based soap that requires no water - kind of along the lines of moist towlettes. Powdered gatorade packets? I can't think of a lot of stuff that the Army doesn't provide already - I'm probably hitting on a few that they already do.
Good luck!

no count number how all and sundry feels about the conflict, our troops deserve our help. Freedom isn't "free", each and every so often that's paid with the finest sacrifice. the position do you get your information? even as develop into the finest time you truly "spoke" with any of our squaddies? Ask them in the journey that they imagine that's "worth it", i think of their answer might want to wonder you. we've relations and friends who're there, or were there. they do no longer percentage your point of view. all of them might want to fairly wrestle the conflict "over there", than right here. all of them might want to bypass again if needed, some already have. You, and anybody with your point of view, are in elementary words "free" via sacrifices made through our squaddies. that's really elementary to sit down down again if you're "threat-free at your residence", and choose the individuals who make the harsh judgements, judgements you would possibly want to no longer make. for my section i could not care a lot less if our squaddies ought to "shoot their way out of a site visitors congestion". i'm no longer there, that's no longer my call to make - that's no longer yours both. how are you going to communicate for the Afghanistan human beings? Are you actually one of them? have you ever been there? the way you would possibly want to you or all and sundry else who hasn't been there likely understand what there "needs" are? How did you understand that "no one feels threat-free anymore even as American troops are round"? quit talking for anybody else, you don't understand what you're speaking about.

If of thy mortal goods thou art bereft,
and from thy slender store two loaves alone to thee are left,
Sell one, and with the dole
Buy Hyacinths to feed thy Soul.

A letter or something to remind them of home, I would say.

Odd as it sounds my cousin wanted us to send him ping pong balls and paddles. He said they played in their down time. He also said they needed guitar picks.
