I have this girl that digs me a lot, and I want her to move down here. She lives in Ontario Canada, and I just wanted to know if you need a green card to work here if you live in Canada?

Yes, and unfortunately its complicated to get one. You could just marry her, but since you want her to come down because she digs you a lot and not because you dig her, maybe you shouldn't.

They need a work visa. Then while they are here, they should work on the next step. Getting employment verification and residency verification. Then when renewal time comes for the visa, it won't be denied. Whether you relationship works out or not, you should encourage her to do these things so she can stay here if she wants. The problem is the ones that get a work visa just to come here and send all their earnings back so they can return and live it up for a while. (mostly mexicans, but other nationalities do this as well) Some people though are doing things for the right reasons.

She first has to apply to get here, after she arrives, depending on the type of visa she gets, then she can apply for a green card. If you are engaged you can apply for I129f. This takes about 6-10 months. Otherwise they only other way for her to work here is if she is a skilled laborer and no one else can do what she does for the company she is apply for. Hope that makes sense.

She could come with a tourist visa but she have to return to Canada when the time of the visa is up. She could also apply for a working visa and she could stay longer. Good luck in your relation.
