I was raised by dogs, so dont try to get me barkin up the wrong tree. I can find ticks, even the tiny needle point size non-adult ones. me and her went walking in the woods, and wound up in a decent briar patch. we made our way out...but she struggled more than usual a couple times. two baths and my long fingernails later, and i still cant find it. Please, help me with some ideas in finding the thorn. and shaveing her is out of the question. i've even stuck my mag light in my mouth and went inch by inch.......so it may be under her skin, and not protruding anywhere.

There are 2 options! Put her in a tub of warm soapy water for about 30 minutes but she is a dog and wont stay in ( This works for me)

Take her to the vet!

Try a hot towel over the area to draw it out to the surface. You can also try boil ease. It is a draw medication. Just don't let her lick it. If you can't get it, take her to the Vet. If he is unable to remove it, he will give your dog antibiotics so she does not get an infection. He body will either absorb the thorn or reject it. It is ok if her body absorbs the thorn. Just watch the area for infection.

If you're sure she has something in her and you are un able to find it, you need to get her to a vet before it get's worse. If it got under her skin it could cause more damage. Good Luck!

I don't know. How about calling the vet and asking what they would do...
