You made me laugh out loud. The only fair thing to do, is to grant immediate access to heaven to all those stuck in limbo. This is likely to cause a massive unemployment problem until everyone gets settled in their new digs and gets assigned to their respective Angelic tasks.

The Pope is doing away with something that was placed in existence by men, Limbo was a belief that all who die go to there to await their moment of atonement. The truth of the the matter is that there is no time factor in death, there is no time when on God's time, so why would you placed in a place to wait. It has been excluded from Catholic belief for centuries now, the Pope is only eliminating something that never existed. The thought of waiting just never made sense, in a timeless place.
God bless always.

Limbo is a mere theological construct and theory of the middle ages, and was never an official doctrine of the church.

You may be mixing up Limbo with Purgatory.

Purgatory is an offcial dogma of the church, and it's not going out of business anytime soon. pope, or no pope.

Do you mean dancing your way under a bar that's being lowered progressively? Why would the Pope do that? Doesn't he like dancing?

PS, who says that there's a Hell to begin with, the Pope? Who voted for this guy? Waht party does he belong to? Can he be impeached?

I think that it's retroactive. He's saying that the religion now believes that there is no limbo and that limbo never actually existed.

Limbo was suggested as the place where unbaptized babies went when they died. This idea was never official Church doctrine and has be rejected.

The church now says that it is not sure what happens to unbaptized babies when they die but she entrusts them to the mercy of God.

With love in Christ.

Everybody who's not baptized will burn in hell for utter eternity. That's how it's written, so therefore it is true.
