I am painting my room a dark brown color right now. But it is not turning out as dark as I originally wanted but it still looks great. But now I am not sure what color to paint my accessories (picture frames, dresser, headboard). I had planned on painting them an even darker brown but now the paint I bought is not that big of a difference from the wall color.

Here are some links to my inspiration...

So what do ya think?
Dark brown
White
or a blue or green like the first pic
or a tan-camel color??

I think I'm going crazy!

Oh, I love brown walls!!!

If you want more of a modern look, light blue and chocolate brown look fabulous together. Then you can add in some silver accessories which would lighten things up as well.

If you want more of a natural look, green looks fantastic with brown. My whole house is in shades of brown and green. I love it -- it's so soothing. You can also work in natural fabrics and other materials, like bamboo shades, woven baskets, etc.

Let us know what you decide!

The dark brown is so dramatic that I'd go much lighter with the accessories. What about a real pale coffee cream or a taupe? And I wouldn't do everything in the second color. Gold on your picture frames would really pop.
The crisp white bed linens give a classic, classy look. And, if you wanted a spot of bright color, you could drape a burnt orange throw across the foot of the bed or look for a few patterned cushions in the orange/gold accents color range.

It is so easy to get all jumbled up after you look at the stuff over and over! I know what you are saying there!
I love the color of a lime green with brown - it seems so retro and is very popular right now. I think it brightens up the brown and makes it look more elegant.
Just my opinion. :) Why don't you go for a walk and take a break for a little while and then go back and take a look at it? Or find something that sort of matches the color choices you are thinking of and hang them next to the wall color and check it out that way.
Good luck to you!! I am painting my bathroom tomorrow - Mint Ice Cream. Why do they make these paint colors sound sooo good?? lol

don't' worry! first of all remember to let the room reflect who you are... are you a person who likes clean/ simple? then paint the big accessories (furniture) white, but if you think a stark white would be too dramatic then pick a bone white (hint of tan to it)... paint can also be returned or the place you bought it at can also add more black/ brown to make it darker for you. This way you can paint your pic frames a deep espresso brown. Clean white bed linens with espresso brown accent pillows in fun textures is always great. Then add your greens in blues through vases, a blanket, etc. for pops of color you can always change (in case you ever get tired of them) red can also be a more romantic touch that works great with the white/ brown's color scheme! Good luck and have fun with it!!!

I like the brown with the blue. I see alot of these 2 colors together in clothing and I think it looks very fresh. The tan with brown theme is getting boring. The blue livens things up!

I think the light brown/camel color will look nice with the dark brown. You can even paint the trim of the doors and windows with it.

well if I was you I would make like most of the stuff in your room made of wood..... like the picture frames and the drawers and wardrobes. that would totally go and just one more a wooden polished bed. so that's it.
