Maybe your brother isn't as hung up on the issue as you are. Maybe he is genuinely happy to have you around. If you think about it, you're both in the same boat without a parent. Maybe you should be more interested in whether you can build a relationship with him and not if he is jealous of you. Be his friend, you'll have him forever.

I wouldn't necessarily say he's jealous. But I do feel sorry for the both of you. It was horrible of your families to put you two against each other this way. Please remember, no matter what your brother said or did it wasn't his fault your Dad lived with him and not you. It was a choice your Dad made, your brother couldn't (nor could you) have influenced his decision.

I think you're loosing valuable time with your brother being angry or jealous when you should be creating memories to pass down through the generations. If I were you I would sit your brother down and discuss this with him. Tell him how he (and you family) made you feel and see if you can get past it all. Hope you can work things out.

It shouldn't matter if he is jealous or not. What matters is that you and your dad are fine. Maybe you should try to get to know your brother that way all three of you could have a good relationship.

Tell him you are proud of him for being.................(fill in the blank)
Tell him you love him and will always be on his side. And every time you feel jealous or funny about him or yourself, repeat those same phrases.
It is unconditional love. You well love him no matter what. If he does something very wrong, you will let others judge him, but otherwise you will love him always.

You sound extremely immature. He's your brother. Quit competing and treat him with love. Stop and think how you'd feel if something terrible happened to him. Grow up!
