i dyed my hair with midnight black semi permanent hair dye last october (a year ago!) and it still hasn't completed faded out. it isn't too noticiable but basically the bottom half of my hair is a few shades darker than the top which is now my natural brown. I have long hair and don't want to cut the darker half off....help!

Head to the salon if you don't want to regret it! Black and red dyes are the hardest to fix alone. Go to a salon that specializes in color and they can help you fix the color without damaging your hair so much you end up having to cut it anyway!

Try uncolor by clairol... you can get it at sallys beauty supply... or shampoo several times with baking soda and dish liquid (dawn)... baking soda will open up the cuticle on the hair shaft and despense some of the dye out of the hair shaft... condition real good of course after you do this a couple of times... semi-perm. color only suppose to last 4 to 6 week color so... shampooing a bunch should lighten it some. Also... if your hair was dry and damage prior to applying the semi color... it can sometimes hang on like a permanent color would.
Good Luck....

You would have to strip your hair of all colour, not a procedure I would reccomend. Best thing to do it wait it out and cut it off bit by bit as new hair grows in.

buy a dye closer to your natural hair color and when that starts to grow out it wont be noticable like the black is

Have you tried a "color stripper" that is available in beauty supply stores? I have heard this works. Not much else will, I am afraid -- a haircut is usually the only solution.

YOU CAN BLEACH IT, BUT IT WILL DAMAGE UR HAIR. IT WILL DRY UR HAIR BAD! IT'LL BE BETTER IF U WAIT COUPLE MORE MONTHS.
