If an American citizen weds an alien, you must follow through with paperwork at immigration, only then can you file at Social Security Office for a number & that will start process for greencard. As long as they are married to an American, they will not be deported if paperwork is done.

There are a lot of things we don't know and you should take this to an expert.

If he was deported formally he can't come back legally for 10 years, marriage or no marriage.

He needs to have entered legally to get a green card for marrying a citizen.

There are a lot of requirements. They need to speak to an expert.

She can't, he has to go back and get a visa and then follow the process to becoming a citizen.

She needs to call immigration, they have a toll free number she can ask them any questions and they will mail her the approriate forms, I am sure she is not the 1st one to deal with this kind of a situation. They do not trace your call so tell her it is OK to call, if she is nervous you can call for her.
