An insurance policy only covers the vehicle when a licensed driver is operating it (this is why you have to declare all licensed drivers in your household on your policy), so technically, yes, you were driving a motor vehicle without insurance coverage. If you got into an accident your husband's insurance would not cover it, and you yourself would be liable for damages.

YES IT"S TRUE!
Read your policy!!!
An insurance policy is a signed, agreed, CONTRACT between your husband and the insurance carrier. In the policy, clearly states that no unlicensed drivers will drive the car. It is not unreasonable for the carrier to say that. All carriers require it.
Your husband stated when he got the contract, that he would be the only licensed driver in the household driving the car. He if had mentioned you, the policy would not have been written. He signed the contract and he agreed to all of the conditions once he paid for the policy. If an unlicensed driver drives the car, the policy in null and void. If you had gotten in an accident, the insurance carrier would NOT pay. They owe you nothing and believe me, they will not pay a penny because your husband is the one who broke the contract.
To claim to the courts you have insurance, is insurance fraud regardless if you are aware of it or not. Dont dig yourself in deeper.
I dont know the laws in Texas, but in most states, the DMV or police report all tickets to the Insurance companies. If this happens, your insurance carrier will drop your coverage. All insurance companies share information, so it will be very hard for you to get coverage, and in the event you do, it will be more expensive!
My advice - read your policy... well, your husbands policy.
Get a drivers license.
you didn't mention why you do not have a license. Did you have it revoked?

You should not have waited till your court date to find out, It does sound like you are being scammed, I live in Houston and have no license but I do have insurance, and I was wondering what would happen if I got pulled over....I have a feeling its going to depend on the individual court...its more than likely one of those loop hole laws...try looking it up or call the DPS and ask
and a no insurance ticket is around $400 and you will get a sur charge of $380 a year for 3 years...and it will also put a point or 2 on your liscense...I'd try and talk to the judge..but there isnt going to be much you can do...you have to get a lawyer before your court date

The insurance policy your husband had would have probably covered damage to your car if you had been in an accident. His policy was taken out for him and the car. You, as a driver, have no insurance. You can't just automatically covered; otherwise everyone with a bad record wouldn't get insruance (high rate) and just claim to be insured under someone with a good record (low rate). Does that make sense? The insurance policy cover the insured driver and the automobile, not an uninsured driver with no license!

this is a question with extra then one answer. Getting a no coverage value ticket below maximum platforms isn't an automatic suspension, that happens with a utilising below the impression or blowing .08. you're growing to be issues renewing your license or registering your motor vehicle in case you have unpaid tickets. be conscious that the demerit factors upload up. as quickly as you get sufficient factors then you definately can go through a license suspension. Make sturdy alternatives. be careful approximately borrowing a motor vehicle. sturdy luck!
