They cannot understand the things of God for they are blinded by satan. Not sure what scripture you was looking at but would love to know it.

2:12-14 of what? You seem to have left the book out. But, even with that, I'm pretty sure it doesn't say "One MUST call themself a Christian in order to understand things of God". Even if that were the case, that's putting Christianity in a really tough spot... there are so many different definitions for the same thing. (As bobkgin pointed out earlier today... "Fear of God") And, that also puts Abraham in a really tough spot... considering he was a Pagan before becoming faithful to the Biblical God. As were others. It would also mean God respects those who label themselves, yet the same Bible says he is a respector of no one. And that he will show mercy on those HE wants to show mercy to... not the one's his current followers deem are deserving of it.

Being an Atheist who is very observant, I shall blow your mind with the following statement:
How should I be able to understand the "things of God"....when not even you Christians can understand it?? I cannot tell you how many times I have heard a Christian respond to a question with "You cannot understand the way of God. No one can."
So whats the point of your question?? I cant understand and neither can you.

I think most of us non-Christians can understand the things of God just as easily as Christians could understand things in other religions. but the truth is its not about understanding, its about believing;
I can understand Dr. Seuss books, but I don't believe in Sneetches or Thing 1 and Thing 2.
and for the gal a couple of people up: I am not blinded by Satan, I have no Satan. He was made up by someone else.

Yes. The Bible is supposedly his Word written down. It's been translated into plenty of accessible languages. I understand the Bible quite well. Which is exactly why I reject it as a fairy tale.

Even the people who call themselves Christian do not understand the things of God. No one understands unless it is given to him to understand

No, because christians have a monopoly on all things God.
I think they might even have a trademark.

Sure other religions can. Every religion thinks they have the one true path to God. Who's right? Who knows?
