We have a 1 bedroom and it costs us 1300 a month,,apartments are so high, and to buy a house is crazy exspensive! For 600 you will get a crappy studio with cockroaches and mice,,Plus it just seems to be so much here for everything,,,traffic sucks,,,the smog is terrible,,most people are rude,,we are trying to move to Wisconsin to be able to afford our own home,,,but honestly I would stay in North Carolina girl,,or come visit here first before you make any decisions,,,

If you add another $1,000 (thousand) onto your price, then you'll be in the real world & not in the Disneyland frame of mind. You MAY be able to find something for $800 in downtown L.A., but then you have to pay 1st, last, & deposit, which is the same price as the monthly rent or slightly less! You'll also have a minimum $25 fee to check your credit & you will also have to qualify for your utilities & each company will require a deposit also! You must learn to downsize if you want to survive in L.A. A one bedroom will be all you can afford & parking will cost you more in many places! At least you are smart enough to investigate BEFORE you get here! Good Luck! Beware of our many slumlords who will take your money & give you a key that does not open the door!
