Tooth fairy has to leave money for starters. Besides, losing your first born vs. kid losing teeth -- no, they don't have a similar effect. Miracles are not recognized by the faithless, regardless of their magnitude--they need to see personal gain or loss for it to have an effect on their heart.

As I told you before that would be ineffective for their salvation.
The firstborn children of the Egyptians were well cared for and were saved.
“As soon as children are raised from the dead, which takes place immediately after death, they are taken up into Heaven and committed to the care of angels” (Heaven and Hell n.332).
Jehovah took His children to Himself and saved them. It only seemed destructive because the Egyptians were non-believers and did not understand that those children were God's children all along.

Remember what it says? Do unto others as you would like them to do to you?
exodus 1:22 Pharaoh commanded all his people saying: "Every new born son you are to throw into the river Nile, but every daughter you are to preserve alive."
So that is how Mosses got thrown into the Nile river, she was following his orders but she put him in a basket first.
So they did it to them. when the angel of death came he only took one son, their first born. So God was nicer than they were they killed every son of the Hebrews.
Maybe God wanted them to know what it felt like to lose a child.
By only taking the first born, it didn't destroy as many but it effected every household. Actually it was a kindness on God's part. He could have just destroyed everyone.
