i recently had a friend at work who helped out of a very big jam I had. She drove across town to pick me up and take tme to work. After pay day, I brought her some cheezies and a card. she loves cheeziers and well i wrote a nice thank-yuo note. Now when I gave it to her she seemed to not want it and say I didnt have to do it. Said she would have done it without payment. .All I did was try to show appreciation was I wrong to do this ??

No, but its human nature to feel a little embarassed. Deep down, I bet she really appreciated the gesture. I know that I would have even if I told you it wasn't necessary. Society has bred us to think that its wrong to show our thanks. .. It isn't ....Here's a pound of kudos sent your way, Man!!!!!!!! :) ;)

Of course not. It was the way you chose to show your appreciation. There are people out here who do thing selflessly for others and they wouldn't think of taking money or gifts for their services. But its very good that you did want to show your gratitude.

No, you weren't wrong, you were very nice. Maybe she thought you wanted to date her or something. Maybe she has never gotten a thank you note and didn't know what to do.

Absolutely not, that was very nice of you. It's not like you tried to pay her, and it shouldn't ahve made things uncomfortable at all.

some people do not want a thank you on that level, a simple "thank you" from your lips is enough at times.
