For the past few days I have been having this painful feeling in the cervical area of my spine. It hurts to move my neck certain ways, I can't sleep on it for more that an hour and then I have to move, but it will still be painful no matter what I do.
I called my doctor today and they couldn't get me in for some reason, and they don't know when they will be able to. Is there anything I can take or do to relieve the pain and discomfort or possibly make it easier to move it?

Go to your pharmacy and buy painkillers with muscle relaxant. The most common one is Robacicet or Robax Platinum. They have both aspirin based ones and acetaminophen based ones. But what you really want is the anti-inflammatories that these have. Take according to your body weight (check the package). And it is perfectly fine to buy the generic brand instead of the name brand. They work just as well.

Ask among your friends to find a good massage therapist. Get a massage and you will feel 110% better. I have that kind of back pain and a massage straightens it out. Also a hot shower on the area. Then some of the herb Valerian to relax the area. Also some time released 8 hour Tylenol.

Call the nearest chiropractor. Make sure they take xrays before they do any manipulation. They may put you on a tens or microtens unit, do ultrasound therapy, etc.

What did you do to have this happen? Work, accident, fall, lifting?
