I did hear on BBC Radio 4's today programme that there has come to light a transcript of a speech given to the Sanhedrin by a disciple of Jesus a few years after the crucifiction. It details Jesus's life and is a tour de force of rhetoric, it is said that this speech is what started Christianity, it was so powerful. What has happened to this transcript? Have the Vatican got their hands on it and buried it until the end of things? Am I the only one who remembers this?

I can't speak to any archaeological evidence, but there is a long speech by Stephen the Apostle to the Sanhedrin. It's all written down in the book of Acts. Stephen was called in for being an Apostle. The Sanhedrin had him stoned. His speech is considered a model for apologetics.

The irony?? The guy who turned Stephen over to be stoned? Paul - the same Paul who would write most of the New Testament.

If you are not a christian and don't believe Jesus is the messiah why the interest in this transcript's content. Surly you should be content that you are certain of what you believe hmm let me see {nothing}.

why? oh why?? oh why?? are you interested in asking or giving answers in the religious section when you don't believe in it. I bet the best you can come up with is that it intrigues you that people can be so gullible and you would like to spread your wisdom or is it that you got caught and hurt when you did believe and so now you are this 'big rebel'.

Well whatever your reason, ask yourself why are you interested if you are not interested and do us a favour give yourself an honest answer.

We should all have the opportunity to make up our own minds as to what we believe and not be bullied by those who would call those who have faith God troublers or botherers etc, { now I am not claiming that you personally has said this but some have} and all other names I have seen in this section.

Sounds rather like that other great urban legend - the Jesus scrolls. Claimed to be written by Jesus at Masada, 30 odd years after he snuffed it. Also claimed to be locked away in the Vatican.
you'd think the Vatican had nothing better to do than hide everything. Conspiracy theories, here we go.
Actually, the only thing that has been found is the original Ark of the Covenant. Indiana Jones found it and it's now in Area 51.

See, daft, isn't it!

I have heard of this transcript as well. And it has disappeared....

The only reason I can think of is because it does really speak of Jesus' life while he lived - and I am CERTAIN that these details do not agree with the "details" of his life that the Vatican has promoted for the last two thousand years....such as virgin birth, not being married, etc. So they bury it.

I also would like to know if there is a link available.
The answer to your question would be of consuming interest to many of us.
I rather doubt the Vatican would 'sit' on such a powerful document, especially as it would provide lasting proof to the many doubters in this world.

The fact that you call the crucifixion the 'crucifiction' speaks volumes about your question, and your conspiricy theory concerning the Vatican hiding evidence.

Anything that does not support the Vaticans version of Christianity is buried by them. The truth is out there...

These rumours have been around for all of my 56years and I believe that there is truth in a lot of it, but we will never know unless we get a good mole in the Vatican secrets and its archives.

There have been more reports of Elvis being sighted after his death than there are of Jesus.

Is Elvis god?
