your not sure to, you just put yourself at higher risk.. the virus isn't waiting down there to jump out and infect everyone! but with continued exposure he would definitely get it... anal sex has a much higher risk of transmitting the disease because there is more bleeding (some people think they are safe that way for some reason...) he's lucky and should consider himself blessed, also HIV can lay dormant for a while, so after the normal window period (i believe it's 6 months) he should get tested again.

a lot of ignorant people on here get totally freaked out just by the letters HIV and just spout a lot of crap.

1) any one with a new partner should use a condom, for the pregnacy as well as the disease aspects of sex

2) It does not follow that sex with a HIV+ person ALWAYS transmits the disease. especially from a woman to Man. It is too high a chance to take the risk, but it is not a 100% certainty.

3) HIV can hide in the body. a positive result may not show up until 6 months after infection

HIV has been known to be dormant for many years. He still very well may have it, but it's not yet showing.

Hopefully, he doesn't.

Be sure to tell your friend to get checked regularly...every 6 months at least. If you catch it early enough, there are meds that can help slow it down.

He may have caught it but it takes months to years before you show a positive. Tell your mate that he may have been lucky but he should get tested every 6 months or so from now on and eschew unprotected sex to keep from infecting his partners in the future, ( just in case he has it and got a false negative)

That's like playing with fire! Anyways, the virus can show up not only in several months, but years as well! The virus is highly mutative and depending on its hosts it would infect a persom in 2 months or 2 years time. Dint your friend have a device called a "brain"?

This really sucks for him!! I hope he dumped her!!! HIV isn't something that can be seen in the blood right away. It could take three months to Ten years for it to show in blood. That's why this disease is so scary and un predicted. Tell him to get checked every six months and cross his fingers that by some miracle he did not contract it!

it's harder for a guy to catch it from girl.
However, he may still have it, the virus can take months to show up in the system. He needs to get tested every 3 months for the next 2 years.

my uncle has it and sleep with his GF for 2 years and she never got it,it depends how sick they are and usually the woman will catch it before a guy will just because they are expelling the semen and the female is the receptor, however it can test negative for up to 10 years before the virus will start to grow again.
