The word is COLLEGE. Not collage. Why on this Board are there so many young idiots who cannot spell that word correctly? Are you seriously the future of this country?

YES, this question IS RELATED to parenting. If parents did their jobs we wouldn't have idiot kids trying to get into COLLAGE. Also, it has nothing to do with not using spell-checker. On this Board I have seen it no less than 10 times in the last month. It's not a matter of somebody hitting the "A" key accidentally.

I applaud Yoshi and her answer. She will be the future of our country. Unfortunately, 99.9% of her peers are NOT EVEN CLOSE TO HER LEVEL. That is the scary part. How about this person below who is pregnant and SMOKING ... and thinks that it is OK ... AND gets mad at me for telling her that it is WRONG!!! This is what we are dealing with in this society and it is SCARY.

Because no one cares about spelling any more, and it's IRRITATING!!!
What really amazes me is the fact that these people are even capable of ASKING about college.

The spell check works and a lot of the people that spell it "collage" probably use the spell check. Here is the problem spell check only checks for spelling not context. Collage is a real word so spell check isn't going to tell you that you spelled college wrong. Spell check just assumes you really wanted to talk about a grouping of photos.

I would hate to think that people like you are the future of this country. Young people are not idiots, you're the idiot. Ranting and raving about something that dosen't concern you. You know what they mean, don't you? Why waste 5 points on a stupid question like this. You need to grow up. People can incorrectly spell anything, or make a typo.

All the typos are annoying but I agree with "Yoshi" who said it's not worth wasting 5 points to ask about. What a great answer she gave! Shows our youth is able to think logically and defend themselves when necessary.
Still agree about the misspellings though and how annoying it is to see.

The funny question is why so few people take the extra 5 seconds to click the check spelling button. Misspellings are so common on this site, it's not even worth worrying about.

Because this country's education system is determined to forget about phonics and is totally concentrating on sight words. My niece is in first grade and her teacher only gave her half credit for her spelling words because she sounded out the word went instead of just memorizing it.
