My dad, my brother and I all suffer from (I don't know the technical term),cracked skin, like small razor cuts on fingers and sometimes the toes, when the weather changes here in Fl. It is EXTREMELY painful, and takes days and days to heal just like any wound. All 3 of us are in diff. lines of work (dad's retired). My mom, other brother & sister aren't affected.
We have tried everything, year around, to try to find a solution. I've done oil bathes faithfully, hand-cream every night, gloves on, gloves off, udder creme, crack creme.....you name it....I've tried it!
And still, already 2-3 weeks ago, the humidity went down, temp. dropped to high 60's(at nite!), and BAMM. 3 cuts. I used to love this time of year so very much and now all I seem to do is think about is the pain of going through another 6-7 months of this again.
I first remember this happening on a trip with my husband to the NC mountains in the mid-80's. In Dec.
Thanks for any insite

Have a dermatologist and allergist check it out.
Home remedy: aupplement diet with multivitamins with minerals. (esp the B comlex vitamins). keep the skin moist with a very thin layer of baby oil. and try cortisone creme on a small patch of your skin skin to see if it works. It just might work very well. If it does get off to an allergist and get a complete work-up. Food allergies have been know to cause all manner of strange symptoms.
Good luck,
Doc. Dan.

The other treatments did not work because they are all laden with ingredients that will dry the skin out. Most contain alcohol, and highly toxic ingredients, which suggest they have done more to damage your skins than help you. Have a look at the ingredients, it's quite frightening.
I suggest you try `100% pure coconut oil, (I use Nui brand pronounced new) this coconut oil is pure, has anti-biotic, anti-fungal properties. You only need apply a small amount to the effected areas of your body. The cellular make up of coconut oil is that, that it is apply sparingly as the cells are smaller than that of other oils, the idea is if the coconut oil to penetrate the skin, so it goes into the bloodstream, via the skin pores.
I use Nui extensively on elderly skins with remarkable results, with not one complaint.

sounds like ecxzema. you can try an over the counte 1% hydrocortisone cream or ointment to see if it helps, but usually only works if mild symptoms. usually you will need a prescription steroid medication. see your gp or dermatologist.

You really should not rely on any medical advice from the normal Answers user.

Seek a known professional.

Alternately, use a good website like http://www.webmd.com or http://www.dermadoctor.com
