It is never to late to start learning a discipline. It may a bit harder for you to learn then a 10 year old, BUT you will appreciate it and understand it better because you have seen more things then someone younger then you.
(Just remember Martial Arts are not for kicking peoples a**, they are a talent you learn and a discipline to never use - this gives you strength, knowing that you can beat up a person who causes you grief, but not doing it)

Youngest member in our martial art is 4 oldest is 90 you are never to old. I started when i was 38. Go and have a look at some Dojangs. They should offer you a free introductory lesson and see what martial art would suit you best good luck.

18 is definatly not too old. I started doing taekwondo when i was 21, another guy in my class started when he was 34. in other classes there are a few older men again. And there is no age when you are too old to keep training, one of my instructors has been doing Tkd for over 30 years.
I've only been training for a bit under a year, and i have competed in state and national championships already, there is no limit to what you can do once you start
Martial arts is a sport that you can do at any age as long as your body lets you.
Have heaps of fun what ever style you choose.

Please do not buy into the hype that you can't be good at martial arts unless you have been practicing since your were knee high to a grasshopper ... grasshopper.
As far as an agent limit... I would say two is too early for most folks and on your death bed is a bad time to start.
Go for it, check out the schools you are interested in and have fun. Oh, take your time in selecting a school.

Absolutely not! I started at 23 along with my brother (at age 21) and we have been enjoying Karate for 3 years. At our dojo, we have a teen/adults class, so there is a range of ages, including a few adults in their 40s-50s. The kids' classes are bigger, but separate, so we never compete with or are compared with them. I find it to be a good way to get exercise along with learning valuable self-defense skills. You might want to research several styles (as we did) before finding one that suits you. Good luck!

There is no such thing as too old.
Go find a gym that has adult classes. At 18, you don't need to be trying to train with 7 year olds.
