If you research the theory of drinking water online, you'll find that there is no scientific evidence on why we should drink THAT much water. Yes, we should drink water because it has it's benefits, but there is no need to drink 6-8 glasses a day.

Hi Friend..
Who said U'll drop weight by drinking water..? There's no such condition. But U need to drink 6-8 glasses of water for health maintanance.. But it too depends on weather... I hop U got tht..
But you really need 6-8 glasses of water if U works out... Because all the waste products like lactates, creatine, ketones have to be removed through urine..
Another thing Even a 12 yr old child's stomach wont stretch out if he/she takes 200-250 ml of water atonce.. So never take 2-3 galasses of water atonce... Drinking more water than need is not advisable as it washes out some water soluble vitamines...
Do excercise(especially aerobic excercises& cardio workouts), take low fat-low calorie food with more fibres, avoid sugar, instead use sugar substitutes if U need...
U can see the difference...
Live Healthy, let live..
Regards...

In addition to lubricating all your moving parts, removing toxins, and helping your cells and muscles get nutrients, water is very very important. Oh and drinking 8 glasses of cold water helps you burn an extra 70 calories! How? Your body has to warm up all that water when it comes into your body (by loss of heat), the cost of which is roughly 70 calories!
The thing is too that you may not need 6-8 glasses of water because much of the food we eat already has water in it.

Drinking 6-8 glasses of water is very good for your health, though it is debatable whether it will help you lose weight. If you want to lose weight you need to control your diet and exercise...there is no other way out. Also, if you eat a lot of fast food, which has huge amounts of fat, you will have water retention and you will look bloated. But the culprit is not water, it is salt. It is a myth that water stretches your stomach out. Do not believe such things. In the ultimate analysis, please drink 6-8 glasses of water for good health, and control your diet if you want to lose weight and exercise to look good.

It might stretch your stomach if you're drinking like 4 or 5 glasses at a time. If you drink 8 oz every hour or so you should be fine.

You need water to stay hydrated. The water helps out by taking away toxins in the body that make you fat. Don't drink 8 glasses of water at one time, but at 8 different times during the day.

Yes, water is 0 calories. In order to lose weight you must burn more calories then you take in. Zero calories= nothing to burn. You will feel full if your stomach is full of water, and you will lose the water through sweat, urine, and tears (of frustration at some of these funny answers) When you start to lose weight or when you lose a lot of weight at once it is what you call water weight- and it is easy to gain back. Water is a good healthy thing and you should drink a lot of it. It washes out your kidneys and has many other effects that are possitive. Remember 0 calories- no really... where is the problem with that!

The question is about losing weight, right? And its not about the water... Water wont help u to lose weight if u eat the same amount of food. Drink about 3 glasses of water and eat smaller portions than usual... To lose 1kg a week(we dont have pounds in europe) (.its about 0.5 lb) is normal.
Just dont try diets :)))
Good luck :)))

Well drinking 6 to 8 glasses is the recomendation for healthy living. You do lose weight by keeping yourself well hydrated. It helps speed up metabolic rate. But make sure not to starve yourself because your body will go into "survival mode" which basically means it will attempt to store all your fat due to your body thinking you need food...
