I had my hair done a week ago and am not happy with the results. I wanted blond highlights, but the stylist did them so heavily that my hair has an overall "blond" look that is brassy. I called the salon and I am supposed to go back tonight to be "fixed", however, I'm really bugged out about it. I have never gone back to a stylist to have my hair redone, even when I haven't liked the results in the past. But I'm tired of paying almost $ 200 and being disappointed. It seems like they never listen to what I want. What do you think?

Yes, I'm going back to the same stylist. This was the 3rd time she had done my hair. The 1st time was good, second ok, 3rd bad. The salon is a Toni & Guy in Houston, Texas.

Hi Kandy, I have gone back twice in my life. And the first time my best friend had to drag me there! But what I found out is this: 1)The stylist wants you to be happy. 2) If your un-satisfied and do nothing about it...what are the results? You will tell EVERYONE you know what a terrible job "so and so" did to your hair! 3) Nobody wins! So go back and get it fixed. What I've done when having to find a new stylist is hit the mall, go up and ask people (whose hairstyle you like) and ask them, "Who/Where do you get your hair done?" That's a win/win situation! XOXO Moonpie

In order to get your hair the right way, I'd go back, especially if I had described to them exactly what I wanted. I've never gone back but I should have more than once. I've seen other people return with problems and the hair dressers seem to be able to work together and fix whatever one of them had done. I know, it's crummy that you have to spend your time to have to have it done right. Everyone makes mistakes. Once I got a perm and the lady forgot to listen for the timer. :( My hair (which is bright red) went out about 6 inches on either side - flat on the top - I looked just like I had a block head. :( I should have complained but I was laughing so hard that I couldn't even talk. It straightened out some after several washings and it was the best look I've ever had but that first part was crazy!!
My husband goes back all the time and he says they don't mind and they fix what they have done.
Good luck to you!!

I have done it- no big deal. They would rather fix it than loose a customer. I did tip the stylist for the redo- I figure it is not an exact science- she did not mess up on purpose or even by being careless, it just happened. If she was always messing up my hair I would not tip for the redo- I would just find a new salon.

Yes, I had my hair cut a couple of years ago and the stylist was talking to another customer the whole time! When I got home I noticed my hair was shorter on one side. I was sooooo mad. I called him up and told him I wanted it "fixed." No problem. After he fixed it I never went back.

Yes...I do it alot. I'm so sick of getting crappy hair cuts. Once that girl realizes that you'll be back until she gets it right she'll listen to you.
I got a bad color went back to that salon but to a different stylist. The girl that ruined my hair felt and looked llike a fool. All because she didn't listen to me. When I go there now I get what I want.

I have wanted to, badly. But I never had the nerve because it is kind of insulting to the stylist (even though they did screw up and should have to fix it).
Good for you for getting it fixed. When you spend that much money for a service of that nature, it should be done right. Or else you would go to a SuperCuts.

i say good for you! there have been 3 or 4 times where i hated what they did and i didnt have the courage to say anything, and i wasted 200 dollars on it..i didn't wanna be mean or rude, but i guess if you are paying that much money it should be what you like...it's hard to stick up for yourself in a situation like that , you're scared they might resent you and be rude to you, and then call you difficult, but it's your hair and i think you did the right thing, i hope in the future i have that courage if it happens to me again.are you getting it done by the same stylist?

I have had the very same problem a few times. It seems as if they never listen or understand what you really want. The best solution (hopefully) would be to take an actual photo of someone with the hair you are wanting. I hope this helps!
