i am going on 16th of october i have read the weather guides & understand it is the rainy season but woundered if it rains all day or just a few hours each day

Just an hour or so each day, usually in the evening. Rest of the day, the weather is usually fine (certainly hot!!) Often on some days it doesn't rain at all.
You'll have a great time in Hua Hin

No, and if it rains, its only a hour or so, and after another 1/2 hour its totally dry again. Very often the 1 hour rain happens in the night.
In fact - you will like the rain, because its hot even its October.

Naah. The one hour per day's rain is warm anyway, so you can go in the sea. Everythink dries out very quickly. It's heavy rain when it comes though.
Hua Hin's ok. You'll enjoy it. Thailand is wonderful.
