If you have to ask before choosing one of your parents to claim a monetary prize for you....there are definitely some trust issues going on in your home. I would speak with both of them together, let them know that you've won, that you need to an adult to claim the prize and then discuss with them what you should do with that money. As parents, they should have your best interests at heart, and their response to your good fortune and the best plan to help you spend or save your money wisely for yourself should be the deciding factor on whom to choose.

Who do you feel is more honest? Who are you closer to?
I'd also make them sign an agreement stating that the money won was yours & to either give you the money or put it in an account for you. Good Luck & Congrats

Ask your mother. Your father is most likely to tell you that he "needs" to borrow it for his car.
