We have been together and have been living together for 2 years, and we have one child together. He has never asked me to marry him, and tells me he never will, so why does he tell his co-workers, friends and even his FAMILY that we are married?

You are in house pussy. He is getting all the benefits from you without being married. He does not have to marry you. He is just putting on a family image in front of his co-workers to make himself look like a great guy who takes care of his family. Please do not get your hopes up. I have seen people live together over 15 years and still not get married. All you have to do is correct him when he introduces you to his coworkers and friends. If he gets upset ask him how is he going to fix it. Then he'll realize he will either have to marry you or pack his bags.

I know men like that they don't want to be judged and have their egos crushed and at the same time they wanna know their free todo whatever. I fit really bothers you that much take some initiative and tell his family and friends the truth yourself or tell him flat out if he wants to tell people you are married then he actually has to marry you or you are gonna find someone who will.

He sounds a little confused himself. Why are you with someone that will never committ to you? You deserve better. I think he's afraid of actually settling down but he wants others to think he's a great guy! He's stupid. You need to tell him like it is. Is he compulsive liar? He must get a rise out of lying. Who would lie to others and say they're married??? Twisted, if you ask me.

My sister's boyfriend does this now and again, mainly to save any confusion; and also because they have been together for about 10 years, so it seems natural as they have commited to each other, just without the piece of paper that says so.
(it's a lot easier referring to my sister as his wife, than as his live in girlfriend/partner, everytime someone asks)

It seems like he doesn't need a piece of paper to prove that he's committed. You should feel flattered that he thinks of you as more than just a girlfriend. I have been with my man for over 19 years and we are not married. He calls me his wife and I'm cool with that.

2 Year Relationship + Kids + Living Together + Unlimited access to the booty =HAVING YOUR CAKE AND EATING IT TOO

I have a girlfriend and we talk about marriage constantly. This is just me...I would be comfortable with just staying in the same house has her and us just "shakin up" bump that she needs a ring on her finger and her last name to change....

So...technically yall are married...he can just technically **** someone else if he wanted to...

Sounds like you got yourself a strange cowboy!!
Even though he has said this to you, that he never will marry you, how about trying a nice romantic evening, candle lit dinner, sexy clothes, and get down on one knee and ask HIM for his hand in marriage???

IF he say's NO, and you don't like others thinking your married, go get you a guy that would be proud of being your REAL hubby!!

Because he's a coward. If you want to be married, put your foot down. If he won't, then either live with things as they are, or move ahead with your life. Why buy the cow when the milk is free, to quote Mrs. Doubtfire....

After two years and one child its time to sh*it piss or get off the pot. If you want to be married, tell him so. And be prepared to move out if he says no. If he says in front of you that your his wife, say "well maybe one day". Don't let him get away with it. Tell him its embarassing you when he lies about your marital state.
