chickensneezer: The article suggests that the daughter was Mormon, because she had a Temple Recommend, but I have no idea what religion, if any, the parents are.

"The couple, both students at Brigham Young University, were married in the temple on Aug. 8, Myers said. They are expecting their first child in May." This stuck out to me. They don't waste anytime.
As for the question, I don't think I would kidnap my own child, or anybody, because they were going to marry a Mormon.

CRIME? The daughter was not kidnapped - she is screwed up in the head. I support the parents who obviously love her. The daughter went with them and made that choice. I would do the same for any of my daughters. I would not want my children to marry Mormons. Unfortunately when you are dealing with Mormons you are dealing with the demonic. I hope the parents will not be convicted, the daughter is the one who needs help. She's pregnant and gets a Temple wedding? - yeah right.

Since I am Mormon, maybe the question would be more relavant to me if I substituted that word for another religion...still, the obvious answer is no. I had a stranger attempt to kidnap me when I was little girl, I've had a brush with how awful it is. There's no way I would do that to someone else.

Considering the daughter was also a mormon I think the parents apposed to the marriage, not the mormon.

No, there are worse things she could do. Mormons are very nice people and they take care of their own.
