I'm in a bit of a mood today in case you can't tell, got my little nose in a book reading, I read all sorts of things.

Trying to make it through some tough times in the world of emotions.

There are some people I like who I want to be close with. I tell them the truth I don't hide anything from anyone sometimes the truth is I can't share with you the truth but its not a lie to say I can't tell you anything.

So ghandi he wanted equal treatment for people was willing to march and stand up to soliders unarmed.

Jesus was unarmed wasn't he? I know the quote he came to bring not peace but a sword but what that meant was his word was the sword.

Funny if you read in 1 Samuel about King David he had a sword but it was symbolic of faith.

Faith and the word, a sword not peace, o well. I still love them the Christians despite their history and dogma.

They love me to watch do you love me?

I hope your day gets better. I agree with you. Jesus was about spreading the word non-violently. When Peter pulled out a sword to defend jesus from being taken to the cross, Jesus told him that he wasn't leading a rebellion. When they beat Jesus, spit on him, hit him, whipped him, and crucified him, he didn't retaliate AND he sure didn't call on one thousand angels to knock people out. Jesus is amazing. Glad to know him. :o)

To your original question - yes. Jesus withdrew when John B. got beheaded, rather than face off against Herod. Jesus chilled the crowds when they wanted to make him king and throw off the Roman occupation. He refused to call up his followers or call in the angels.
The sword of the Spirit he wielded involved cutting through pride, self-satisfaction, cover-up and the like.
Jesus and Ghandi made deliberate moves to their appointed goals. Mortal, Ghandi cut a press popular figure, but his non-resistance also included some fairly unjust actions.
And yes, I love you.

You are absolutely right. The sword of jesus came from his words and not from a physical sword, but the only thing he resisted was Satan and sin. Jesus did preach peace. He was one of the few that did. Especially compared to Muhammad.
And King David's sword was real. Many a Philistine fell before it.
Many folks don't know it, but, Philistines were paganists. That's why God had David's armies slay them.

Have you not heard expressions or analogies stating that words have the ability to cut to the bone. Same thing here. Christ said that his kingdom was not of this world, he said I have come to give you life more abundant, after one of his followers (Peter) cut off the ear of a guard trying to arrest Jesus, Jesus stopped Peter and rebuked his aggression and healed the guard. Upon his execution Jesus stated "Father forgive them for they know not what they do", Jesus said "TURN THE OTHER CHEEK". When asked how many times should a man forgive another Jeus said " seventy times seven". ( seven being a number synbolic of perfection)

MAHATMA GANDHI was once asked about western civilization and he responded that that would be a good idea. Did you know that Ghandi beat his wife into submission daily if she needed it or not. She always crawled on her belly out the door of the house. Ghandi thought it was good to beat a woman 15 minuets a day even if she didn't need it.

Jesus did appear to be non-violent, at least in a physical aspect.

Hopefully people will understand if you can't share the truth, whatever it might be. I'm sure you have your reasons.

Not a christian, but love ya as a friend =)

Jesus isn't a a non-violent resister...he followed every law of the community...remember when asked about taxes? He answered that we must give what belongs to caesar, which means He did not resist paying taxes...
he is an obedient follower of the law, it is just those who envy Him who accused Him of things to get him crucified...

Ghandi wasn't in favor of equal treatment among Indians, he wanted equal treatment amongst the British. He was in favor of keeping the caste system...which meant he wanted the "untouchables" to remain in their low, exploited position. He is hated among many people in that country, so your argument is flawed there.
