try orchard. dillards and macy's are good store cards to start with. they both give good discounts and rewards for card holders and they give small credit lines for people with bad credit.

If you have bad credit, you may want to consider a starting a secured credit card. That is, that you pay a certain amount (say $500) get a card with that amount and from there you must show that you can continue to keep it intact (your bank is the best to ask at). Otherwise, you can start going to every department store and fill out the credit card ap.'s and hope that one screws up and gives it to you. ...it can happen! I got a K-Mart credit card when I was about 17. They refused my mom (who owned houses, business frontages and two auto dealerships and already had gold cards) and gave one to me!!! I think because we filled them out at the same time, they got them mixed up. You might just get that lucky! ...but KEEP IT PAID!!!!

I had the same problem. Start out with a secured credit card. You have to put down a little. The Apr's are high, but you have to start somewhere. I went through First Premier Bank.

I just got a $250 limit Visa from First Premier Bank, check out their website. Interest rate is high but it's helping rebuild my credit at only $20 a month for payments and no deposit required.

STORE CREDIT CARDS ARE TOUGHER TO COME BY THAN BANK CREDIT CARDS. GO TO ORCHARD BANK. tHEY HAVE A CARD THAT HAS A YEARLY FEE BUT WILL GET YOUR CREDIT GOING. BEFORE THAT I WOULD GET A CREDIT REPORT AND FIGURE OUT WHAT IS RUINING MY CREDIT. MY GIRLFRIEND WAS MESSED UP FROM HER SISTER STEALING HER SOIAL SECURITY NUMBER. SHE GOT EVERYTHING TAKEN OFF.
