They could tell us anything about these. Perhaps we'll have to learn enough arabic so we know when we're being lied to as we usually are by the mohommedans, since the koran tells the gullible (sorry, believers) that they should lie to kaffirs and infidels.

Shahadah or witnessing means to Speak and mean "There is no god but the ONE GOD (Allah is the arabic name for the ONE GOD, whereas the Jewish folks call the same entity YHWH or HaShem) and Muhammadan Rasoolallah and declare that Mohammad, Peace and Blessings be upon him and his progeny for ever, is a slave/servant and messenger of God. The first part of this declaration lays the foundation of this monotheistic belief. As any decent person acknowledges the one who gives them something precious, we acknowledge our Prophet for connecting us with the ONE GOD and his many past prophets books and monotheism, and for giving us a comprehensive outlook on all humanity and the universe itself.

Salaat or Prayer is the second pillar of Islam. When one worships the ONE LORD and establishes a daily and consistent relationship with the ONE LORD, one also connects with all of his creation that he made. Allah is also called the ARTIST or Musawwir, whose artwork are you and me. Thus worshipping the ONE LORD building bridges for you to everyone and everything in this Universe.

Zakaat is the practical aspect of Worship. Zakaat means to CLEANSE yourself. Its meaning is CHARITY. Everytime worship of the Lord is mentioned, it is always coupled with giving Zakaat or charity to the poor. Salaat or Prayer and charity go completely hand in hand. Worshipping gives you the strength to part with your wealth for a being that is created by YOUR GOD!!

Sawm is to fast during the month of Ramadan from before the Sun comes up to the time the Sun goes down. Fasting prohibits the use of food or water. This makes you value the nourishment that the Lord provides us, about which we seldom ever think about. Fasting creates hunger, which makes one relate to the poor man who may go hungry, thus by experiencing hunger and thirst first hand, one hopefully have greater compassion for the hungry and the malnourished. Water is taken for granted. In a fast a greater appreciation for water begins to emerge.

Hajj is the gathering of all Muslims in one central place of the World, as Islam is a World religion. All Muslims gather in their local mosques daily five times each day. They gather in the Juma Mosque once a week and get to see people in the neighborhoods around our immediate neighborhood by meeting for the Juma prayers on Friday, in which it is allowed to discuss the local problems and their solutions in a large gathering that can act on relieving the problems.

Twice a year, each year all Muslims gather at the Central Mosque of the City or outside the mosque to offer their Eid prayers for Ramadan and for Eid-al-Adha when Muslims get to meet on a city wide level to interact with each other.

Once in a life time people get to meet the Muslims of the World if they go to Hajj.

So, these are the pillars of Islam.
