I have been with my bf for about a year now and he has only bought me flowers once and only did that because I have complain to him. But he still doesnt get it, I have hinted to him that I like flowers, ect? It doesnt seem to register, he says it a waist of money there going to die in acouple of days. It was our one year anniv. and he didnt get me anything and he had an aurguement the day before and he used that as an exuse that he thought we werent going to do anything for our one year. How can I get him to do something on his own for me? Any suggestions?

walk up to him and say "honey you know the reason i hint about flowers is that i love them,even if they die in a couple days,it shows me that you care,so could you please surprise me once in a while with them" maybe he will get the hint or not he doesn't sound very romantic

I will be checking back here for an answer too haha. I have been trying to hint to my guy. Weve been together 2 yrs and he rarely does it. Some guys just dont that often. I guess its better than the alternative...a guy who buys them all the time and then they mean nothing. Sounds like you have a sincere guy like i do that only does it for special occassions bc he wants it to mean something when he does it. Maybe hint to him you love flowers then drop it. Sometimes when I finally shut up about things I get what I want and he suprises me.

It isn't from him if you are asking for it and it's not a surprise if you are expecting them. Let him do his thing his way in his own time. You're taking away from the romance by hinting like that.

If you have to pressure him to buy you things like flowers then that sort of takes the fun and surprise out of it. Maybe he's just not the romantic sort of guy. My husband never has been the kind to surprise me with things like that and I know he's not greedy and I know he loves me because he has always shown it in many different sorts of ways. If you feel your boyfriend loves you because he shows it in different ways then you have to decide it his good points out weigh this fault of his.

Your not alone! I can tell you that In my "opinion" the guys who do a lot of sending flowers are doing it to make up for something, maybe a guilty conscience so just let him know you really would appreciate it if he thought of you sometimes, you are not alone
