Pregnancy in dogs is usually quite visible in healthy females at about 6 wks. Gestation period for dogs is between 58-64 days. However, if the female in question was overweight/obese going into the pregnancy, she may not show at all! Look for signs of labor that include increased panting/irritability, nesting, basal temperature drop, prominent/milk-filled breasts, and contractions. To diagnose/confirm pregnancy, breeders reccomend getting the dog to the vet for an ultrasound and/or x-rays at around 6-7 weeks gestation to count puppies and check head sizes (for some breeds). Good luck!
