I have been staying in Italy part of our so called COMMON MARKET, but have returned to the UK and am trying to claim Jobseekers allowance, it is being delayed because I have to put that I am returning into the country! I was born in the UK I have UK parents, I have worked most of my adult life in the UK, paid taxes etc and feel I am being treated worse than an illegal immigrant!

I'm over 40 and beleive it or not age is still a factor when you look for jobs, even over 30, though the government has decided employers can't disciminate (how are you going to stop them?)! I was working for my bed and board in Italy, getting experience and learning a language, I am only claiming because I am struggling to find a job, not to mention struggling to survive, because I really don't want to be claiming beleive me!

you think you have problems?? i am german , 44 years old, Academic and engineering Background, and i am just taking a company to court who i worked for the past 3 month on account that they decided that i am only to be paid the minimum wage as I am a Foreigner and therefore produce the questionability of the validity of my Eductacion.
besides, you come back from two years in Italy, and you are in need of government funds?? how exactly did you finance your stay in italy for the last two years? Did you keep a legal Dwelling in the Uk during your absence, why did you come back, did you try to line up a job or job interviews beforehand, did you undertake any preparation prior to your return to the UK.??
or did you just came back to the uk, oh, golly, the government will take care of me, give me a house and money??
Because you are English?? That doesn't mean very much with a government were resources are stretched to the very limits due to mis managment and over spending,so, they therefore treat everybody the same, doesn't matter where you are from, because the individual doesn't matter anymore, but only statistics and the numbers,
so, either live with it or emigrate.
your choice

Welcome to the club. When I returned to the UK after spending some time in South Africa I was held at Heathrow for 6 hours,I had to go for 3 interviews for a N/I no,and basically treat like a criminal and I was born and bred here.My wife on the other hand went straight through customs, got a N/I no within a week and could start work almost instantly AND SHE WAS ON A FOREIGN PASSPORT.

because in the last 2 years 'Britain' has changed beyond most UK folks' imagination. The Britain of long ago is just a reminiscent thought in our minds now and even that is questionable. Who let it get this bad we ask? The people getting the 'glam' end of the stick are the people that don't belong here. Not just the folk who have turned up on our shores in their millions but even some 'British' people here. They stamp down on our culture, our way of lfe, beliefs and values in society and traditions, respect for one another, etc. Freedom of speech is now very dangerous and we have to watch what we're saying. Free will is going to be on some unspeakable peoples' plates as an appetiser soon enough. Our actions against it are laughed at and most good people have their lives threatened for trying to regain some sort of normality. You think the refusal of JSA is bad? Trying to get help from the state is like trying to get blood out of a stone; it only run's freely for people who don't deserve it.

That's because the race the British government and ruling classes, really, truly, hate the most is the English.

I think it's something to do with habitual or ordinary residence. Although i thought they only applied that rule to non-UK EC citizens. Go to a benefits solicitor thats a legal community service provider and ask for free 'Legal Help'.

If not for yourself, then do it for me, it'll really wind up all the BNP anti-European (anti-everybody) racist party faithful. And that has to be a good thing for freedom and democracy.

That's typical of the DSS they fling money at people that have just arrived in this country who have never payed a penny tax, yet someone like yourself have all sorts of obstacles put in their way, get on to your local councillors at one of their regular surgeries

Quit stressing over the situation and help yourself out right away. You're clearly too white, so get piling on the St Tropez. Wrap a tea-towel round your head and climb into your granny's nightdress (starting to get me here ......?). Then, and only then, you flirt off back down the DSS and hold out your begging hand. I'm sure they'll be falling over themselves to help you then.
